In 1851 William and Louisa were living at 20 Common, Dunkirk. William was aged 43 and an agricultural labourer. William’s sister Sarah, aged 57 was living with them.
William left a Will written in 1874, proved to his wife Louisa leaving under £1,000. He left cottages to William and James Kennett who were the sons of his “late brother” Richard (both living in the U.S.A.). He left a legacy to Richard of Graveney son of his dead brother Richard to be given after the death of Louisa wife. He left legacies also to John Kennett, hairdresser of Deal and George Kennett, station master of Adisham (two sons of his late brother Gilbert William). Legacies as well to Sarah Fowle wife of Henry and daughter of his late brother Richard and various members of the his wife’s family. Most of these legacies were for £50, but were not to be paid until after his wife’s death.
