In 1881 she and her 22 year old half brother, Harry were living or staying with John Kennett in Deal.
In 1891 she was living or staying with Harry William Kennett at 25 Station Road, Redhill, Surrey.
In 1901 Mabel was living in the house of William Measures, a Salvation Army Officer, at 31 St. Thomas Terrace, Whitstable Road, Canterbury saying that she was 28. She was working as a Salvation Army Officer. Mabel was musical like her half brother Alexander.
At that time she was living at 11 Temperley Road, Balham. Henry Harding, her father, and Frank Maxwell witnessed the wedding. The couple seemed to have moved continuously in the course of their work. In 1905 they were in Kingston, Surrey, 1906 in Scarborough, 1912 in Cardiff, 1914, Sudbury and many other places in between these dates. In 1918 they were living at Westminster Terrace, Dover. From 1920 to retirement in 1931 they were in Rochdale running a Working Men's Home in a disused Cotton Mill. Their address in 1927 was 61 Redcross St. Rochdale. They retired to Brightlingsea where Herbert died on 29.12.1940 aged 70.
