Ronald KENNETT (1882- )
1 Ronald Alistair KENNETT (1882- ) [13807]. Born Q3 1882, London (Lambeth).
In 1901 he was living and working in a Drapery business at 7 King Street, Maidstone.
2 Thomas Mackie KENNETT (1858-1898) [13803]. Born 13 Jun 1858, London (Camberwell). Christened 19 Aug 1860, Gillingham, Kent. Marr Christina BAXTER 20 Sep 1879, Gillingham, Kent. Died 24 Feb 1898. Cause: Gun Shot Wound.
In 1861 he was a “nurse child” living with a couple called William and Emilia Stone in Twydall Lane, Gillingham. His mother had died in 1859 leaving 6 children to be cared for, and his father had been unable to cope with a baby young baby. Thomas was not taken away from his carers and in 1871 was living with Emilia in Gillingham Lane, Gillingham and listed as her stepson (this of course should have read foster son).
In 1881 Thomas and Christina were living at 205 Milkwood Rd., Lambeth, Surrey. He was a railway clerk and entered his birthplace as being in Ireland.
In 1891 Thomas, Christina, and the children were living in the Station House, Borough Green, Kent.
The cause of death stated that he died from a gun shot wound accidentally inflicted on himself in the office at Borough Green Station, Wrotham, on the London and Chatham Railway. There was a very brief newspaper report in the local paper however which said that he committed suicide.
4 George KENNETT (1825-1885) [9456]. Born 1825, Faversham, Kent. Christened 27 Feb 1825. Marr Caroline Emily PARKER 10 Mar 1845, Gillingham, Kent. Marr Elizabeth SADDLER 3 Jan 1865, London (St.Pancras). Marr Sarah Ann POTTS 1872, Bridge, Canterbury, Kent. Died 7 Dec 1885, Strood, Kent. Cause: Heart disease and paralysis of the lungs.
In 1871 he lived at Railway Station House, Adisham, Kent.
In 1848 George was the Superintendent.
In 1851 he and Caroline were living in Old Brentford, Ealing with two children and his two orphaned nieces, Annie and Emily Hilton.
Caroline and George moved to Co. Down and then to Passage West, County Cork, a town just outside Cork sometime after the summer of 1851, but were back in England living at 7 Edwin Place, Park Road, Peckham in 1858.
George was “lately a Traffic Manager on a Railway”.
At that time of his second marraige, he was a railway clerk living at 35 Weedington Road, Pancras.
In 1866 George was a Station Master in Queenborough, Sheppey.
The family moved to Adisham in 1867.
He left a Will leaving everything to Sarah Ann. His estate was worth £90.
Sarah, his widow remarried, and in 1891 and had become Mrs. Ashley. Her husband was a naval pensioner nearly twenty years older than herself. Their address was 27 Crofs Street, Strood. Her step-grandson, George aged 7 was a visitor in the house, there was also a boarder.
8 Gilbert William KENNETT (1791-1854) [8705]. Born 1791, Boughton under Blean, Faversham, Kent. Christened 15 Apr 1792, Boughton under Blean, Faversham, Kent. Marr Ann JUDGE 30 Aug 1814, Faversham, Kent. Marr Sarah WOOD 30 Aug 1842, Gillingham, Kent. Died 15 Jun 1854, Gillingham, Kent. Cause: General Debility.
Gilbert was a Post Boy, working from The Ship Inn, Faversham from the birth of his son John in 1815 till somewhere between 1825 and 1828, when he became an ostler.
Gilbert and Ann ran the White Horse Pub in West Street, Faversham from 1832-34 according to Piggotts National and Commercial Directory but they could have been in residence there for longer than that.
Gilbert became the landlord of the Golden Lion Pub in the High Street at Gillingham, Kent in 1838 till his retirement sometime after 1851.
On the 1851 census Gilbert William was a licensed victualler aged 59, his wife Sarah was 57 years old. They were living at 54 High St. Gillingham, with them was Dinah Wood, Gilbert’s step daughter.

It is possible that John received between 2 shillings and 6 pence and 5 shillings from the parish for some years between 1780 and 1794.

5 Caroline Emily PARKER (1825- ) [9458]. Born 1825, London (Brompton). Died "13th July 1859". Cause: As a result of falling down stairs after being taken ill suddenly.
3 Christina BAXTER ( -1938) [13804]. Died 3 Feb 1938, London (Battersea).
In 1901 Christina was living at 25 Douglas Road, Maidstone and working as a charwoman to keep her family.
